Zico cancels music show promotions after testing positive for COVID-19

K-pop star Zico is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming album, Kid with a grown ass. He has already unveiled the poster and the teaser for the title track, Freak, and now awaits the release of the album. But while the idol intended to promote her album and songs on music shows, it turns out that can’t happen anymore.
On July 25, Zico’s agency KOZ Entertainment revealed that the artist had tested positive for COVID-19. Their statement adds that the rapper has mild symptoms, including a sore throat and body aches. He is currently self-isolating at home.

Due to this, his upcoming schedule in music shows has been canceled. Following this, he will not make further appearances at any of the shows, including M! Countdown, music bank, and Inkigayo.

On the other hand, Zico released the teaser for the upcoming music video, Freak. A lot happens in a short clip. The rapper can be seen caught in the chaos and destruction. People are running into what looks like an apocalyptic situation. All the buildings are on fire and the city is literally falling. As for the song, the melody has a hint of playfulness which in turn adds to the chaotic energy.

The announcement of the album was made some time ago. On July 23, the agency unveiled the poster for the title track. On the poster, there were a few printed names that suggest they might be the actors featured in the MV. The names of actors Noh Yoon Seo, Cha Yeop, Park Hae Joon, and artist Yong Yong are included.

Meanwhile, Zico will release his 4th mini album, Kid with a grown ass on July 27 at 6:00 p.m. KST (2:30 p.m. IST) with the music video for the title track, Freak.
