Simon Cowell’s new ITV musical game Walk the line landed her host, while Maya Jama landed her last gig.
the Shine The presenter will present the new show when it debuts later in 2021, with a panel of judges led by Cowell expected to be announced at a later date.
“If anyone told me, describe your dream job. It would be this one! Jama said. “I literally couldn’t be more excited to work with Syco, Lifted Entertainment and the amazing ITV team on Walk the line. “
ITV Head of Entertainment Katie Rawcliffe added, “Maya is an exciting talent who brings fresh energy, star power and stellar credentials to Walk the line. We look forward to working with her and bringing this brilliant new format to viewers later in 2021. ”

The series will follow a variety of musical acts, including soloists, duets, groups and choirs, as they decide each week whether they want to stay in the competition or cash in.
The top two performers on each night will be faced with the tough choice of whether they will “follow the line” or take on a new cast of artists at the next show, potentially playing for more money as the weeks go by.
Speaking when announcing his new show a few months ago, Cowell said, “We wanted to develop a show that would give applicants a cash prize that will change their lives if they win.
“At every show there will be a champion who will have to make a vital decision: either cash in on the spot or stay in the contest to compete again the next night and have a chance to claim the huge prize.”
He added: “This is the kind of decision that will have viewers on the edge of their seats – true event television. I am very happy to give musical talent the opportunity to transform their lives like never before.”
Walk the line comes after it was confirmed in July that Cowell’s The X factor had been deleted by ITV after 17 years.
Walk the line will air on ITV and ITV Hub later this year.
