What started as an outlet for San Antonio musicians hit hard by the pandemic has turned into an ongoing musical series that has donated thousands of dollars to local artists.
Continuing its musical showcase launched during the COVID crisis, Cherrity Bar unveiled the July lineup for its summer concert series, featuring country group Band of Bandits, jazz fusion group Xenobia, cumbia group Volcán y Grupo Frackaso and more.
The summer iteration of the intimate outdoor series kicks off this Saturday with singer-songwriter Brandon Padier and runs through the end of August. True to the restaurant’s mission of giving back to the community, performers keep 100% of ticket receipts the night they perform.
The venue sold out all of the shows in its spring concert series, which began April 1, donating a total of $ 6,000 to musicians in San Antonio.
Tickets for the Summer Edition are available in pairs and sets of four, priced at $ 30 and $ 60, respectively. July dates include a limited number of general admission tickets at $ 10 per person.
“We have had a lot of guests asking us when we will be offering GA tickets,” Cherrity Bar reservations manager Libby Day said in a statement. “Until now, we’ve been wary of possible risks to guest health and experience, but the team is ready to give GA broadcasts a try.”
Spectators purchasing seats will receive food and beverage service from Cherrity and the adjoining Kuriya Restaurant. Tickets for the GA are reserved for standing places and do not include the catering service. These customers can, however, purchase drinks from the bar.
The shows take place from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tickets and more information are available at bar website.
