Northwell Health’s “Side By Side” music series returns for 2022 with a special John Legend benefit concert at UBS Arena on Saturday, May 29 – including a special performance by Jason Derulo

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Northwell Health today announced the return of its annual “Side By Side: A Celebration of Service” festival – a two-day festival culminating in a benefit concert at UBS Arena by the songwriter -performer John, GRAMMY® Award winner and multi-platinum Legend on Sunday, May 29. The evening will also feature a special performance by singer-songwriter Jason Derulo. Northwell Health’s “Side By Side” festival kicks off the day before during New York’s Fleet Week on May 28 with a block party at Flatiron Plaza that will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and feature special appearances by Questlove , Broadway stars, the Northwell Health Nurse Choir, and more.

As part of Memorial Day weekend and the return of New York’s Fleet Week, this year’s fourth annual event builds on Northwell’s commitment to celebrating and honoring the resilience of active duty service members, veterans and their families with a one-of-a-kind musical experience to thank our heroes for their service.

The exclusive performance at the new UBS Arena in Belmont Park – the $1.1 billion state-of-the-art arena that opened in November 2021 – will highlight some of Legend’s fan-favorite hits that made him the one of the most decorated artists of our time. His appearance on the music series Side By Side follows a recently announced residency in Las Vegas.

Prior to the benefit concert, Northwell Health will also be hosting a special Side By Side Block party on Saturday, May 28 at Flatiron Plaza in the heart of New York City. This day of service will celebrate the return and resilience of the city – and bring together serving military, veterans and their families with the general public for fun games, culinary experiences, surprise musical performances and more. The lineup will be open to the public and invite everyone to celebrate the sense of community that only Fleet Week and Memorial Day weekend in the Big Apple can bring.

Tickets for the Benefit Concert with John Legend will be available for purchase Friday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. For every ticket sold, 100% of the proceeds will go to fund Northwell Health’s military programs.
