Lionsgate sets ‘Jesus Music’ documentary home release date for December 7 – Media Play News

Lionsgate has scheduled a cross-platform release on December 7 for the documentary Jesus’ music.

The film will be released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD and will also be available for digital purchase.

The documentary chronicles the “Jesus Music” movement, which grew out of the American counterculture of the 1960s to become a global phenomenon. The documentary follows movement from its humble beginnings at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, Calif., To its transformation into the multi-million dollar contemporary Christian music industry.

The film features interviews with the genre’s biggest stars, including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, TobyMac, and Kirk Franklin.

The Jesus Music hit theaters in October.

Lionsgate, in partnership with The Kingdom Story Company, previously released I can only imagine and I still believe with the Erwin brothers. Next Jesus’ music is American Underdog, which opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
