Clarke spent two days filming plays for the camera in the Blackheath area – locals will recognize places like the Victory Theater.

Country to go is directed by award-winning director Kriv Stenders (Slim and me, The Go-Betweens: right here), with musical performances by Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers, Briggs, Troy Cassar-Daley and Fanny Lumsden, among others.

Crossing the divide between downtown and the countryside, Clarke learns that country was in some ways the punk of its time, how it came through with its striking clothes, wild singing style and its own unique culture. But more than that, she will discover how important country music was to Australians – and still is – and how these songs capture who we are as a people and as a nation.

A talented ARIA-awarded artist, Clarke is well known as a Play at school regular but also starred in the critically acclaimed Foxtel series Tangle and recently appeared in the SBS series Come fly with me.
