Eric Nicks, Former Columbia Records Director, Developing Music Series With Lauren Grace Media – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Eric Nicks, who has worked with Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J and Foxy Brown, has teamed up with Dorothy Toran and Leslie Farrell’s Lauren Grace Media to develop a range of music television projects.

Nicks has a comprehensive deal with the production company, which was formed last year by The Real Housewives of New Jersey executive producer Toran and former director of NBC Universal Farrell.

Nicks previously served as president of the Records division at Violator Records, executive vice president of Columbia Records and Universal Motown.

This is the latest deal from the fledgling production company, which recently partnered with Mario Van Peebles and his adult children to purchase an ensemble documentary series. The company produced Bravo’s Race in America: our vote counts and Race in America: A movement not a moment.

“Honored to work with such amazing producers as Dorothy and Leslie,” Nicks said. “With reputations that precede them, Lauren Grace Media is a tremendous content creator and I am thrilled to learn from them and be a part of this important evolution.”

“Eric is a legendary talented leader, visionary strategist and master builder. He brings a passion for storytelling, a willingness to take creative risks and a shared respect to advance the culture that makes him an ideal partner for us. We are delighted to welcome Eric to the Lauren Grace Media family, ”added Toran and Farrell.

Nicks is represented by Sari Greenberg at Berger Legal, Lauren Grace Media is represented by Vital Artists Agency.
