PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A beloved duo from Maryville who made waves in Nashville have been welcomed to Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa winter music series.
The East Tennessee duo named The Young Fables is made up of vocalist Laurel Wright and guitarist Wes Lunsford. Dolly Parton fans said it was nice to come home and star in the musical series.
“We’re big Dolly fans, and we’re from that area and I guess living in Nashville and being able to come back and do something special like this is really important to us,” Wright said. “A lot of our fanbase is in East Tennessee, so it’s really nice to come home and play a show like this, so we’re really honored to be here.”
When asked what their favorite songs to play were, Lunsford replied with “Holdin On” and Wright answered “House of the Lord”, which is on their new record. However, they said that if they had to choose a cover, it would be a Dolly song, which they would play “in almost every set”.
The Winter Music Series is ongoing and offers performances for in-hotel and out-of-hotel guests every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 p.m. until February 26. Although the experience takes place outdoors, it will take place in an air-conditioned tent on the resort’s lawn.
Young Fables can be seen from February 17 to 19.
Individual tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for Dollywood season pass holders. Customers can also purchase meet and greet opportunities for an additional $20 per person.
