Craig Charles to host new music show on BBC Radio 6 from Salford Prolific North

Craig Charles has been announced as the new host of BBC Radio 6 Music’s afternoon of the week show from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and will be broadcast from Salford.

From October, Charles will take over from Shaun Keaveny, who recently announced that he is leaving 6 Music.

Charles will continue to present his existing shows, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show as well as The Craig Charles House Party on Radio 2.

The BBC said the show will be “an uplifting and eclectic mix of music and will include guests from the worlds of music, comedy, television and film.”

Charles says, “I’m wearing makeup so I can present a brand new show on 6 Music later this year. So join me every weekday afternoon for a cup of tea, a chat, and where I’ll play some crisp tunes from across the musical spectrum. Can’t wait to get started, go for it! “
