Christine and the Queens are the latest subjects to take center stage in an upcoming Apple Music documentary charting the trajectory and personal life of French singer Héloïse Letissier titled Apple Music Presents: Chris, due out September 14.
Breaking boundaries around the world through his personal expression and powerful songwriting, Letissier’s musical methodology is laid bare in Chris, as the viewer is introduced to the singer’s many perspectives and viewpoints as well as her own struggle with a fractured personality. Showing how all of these factors influence her music and performance art, the documentary will be an extension of Christine and the Queens’ forthcoming album, Chris, which is due September 21.
“Identity is a constant construction, it must be reassessed and redefined all the time,” she shares in a press release announcing the film. “‘Chris’ is actually me who’s comfortable in the mess.” The dance group’s album is described as “love…risk…provocation”.
Christine and the Queens will play a special one-night Apple Music show in Paris for their fans on September 13, where they will debut brand new music from the upcoming album and introduce the world to the many personalities of Chris for the first time. Apple Music Presents: Chris will be available worldwide on September 14 exclusively on Apple Music.
