BTS nominated for the 2021 MTV Awards in the Best Musical Documentary category

BTS nominated for MTV Awards: A popular South Korean boy group has been nominated in a category for this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards.

Nominees for Best Musical Documentary and Best Musical Moment announced by 2021 MTV Films & TV Awards May 7. The South Korean boy group was nominated for Best Musical Documentary, which falls under a socially voted category.

The Pause The Silence: The Movie documentary that BTS released in 2020 was nominated for best musical documentary. Documentary by Park Jun Soo shows behind the scenes and the group’s journey Do you like: do you speak world Tour. Director Park Jun Soo has already made two other concert documentaries of BTS: Bring the Soul: The Movie (2019) and Burn the Stage: The Movie (2018).

Being the only Asian group nominated in this category, the South Korean boy band faces off against several popular artists who have often topped the charts and sales in the music industry.

Other nominees for Best Musical Documentary include Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, Billie Eilish: The world is a little blurry, The New York Times presents: Coaching Britney Spears, Ariana Grande: Excuse me i love you, Biggie: I have a story to tell, The Bee Gees: How can you mend a broken heart, Tina, Demi Lovato: Dance with the devil and Shawn Mendes: in wonder.

Fan voting for socially voted categories will open May 10 on MTV’s Instagram Stories and end the next day, May 11. The results will be announced on the second night of the awards show – MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted. The awards show airs on May 17 at 9 p.m. ET.

BTS is currently promoting their upcoming song Butter which should be another worldwide hit just like their other songs Dynamite and Boy with love.
