Bedroom Sets director and creator Robert Farrelly introduces the new music series online – watch the latest episode, starring Sorcha Richardson, above.
Bedroom sets is a brand new online music series that features musicians and bands performing short, intimate concerts live from their own bedrooms.
Why the bedroom? That’s because we see so many musicians from this generation’s up-and-coming wave of artists using a combination of technology and talent to create brilliant studio-quality sound straight from their bedrooms.
This means that the bedroom becomes an incredibly important space for artists to practice, perform and produce their own music at all levels and genres.

Of course, the bedroom has always had a particular importance for artists, offering itself as a place of intimacy for musicians to first take their marks, experiment, gain confidence and gradually discover their own sound before showing it. in the world.
We really wanted to fuel that with the series, and so Bedroom sets is ultimately a celebration of the premium level of art that can be achieved when you have the freedom to create, experiment, and perform in your own space.
For our pilot episode featuring multi-instrumentalist and singer Isaac Jones, Isaac’s set takes place in his bedroom at his family home in Dublin where he wrote his brilliantly crafted EP. Year of the Rat in its entirety.
For our last episode, we shot the set for Sorcha Richardson in her warm and cozy bedroom in her grandparents’ house, where she stayed much of the pandemic and where she wrote half of her new album at to come. She performs a few tracks from her acclaimed debut album First prize for bravery with his band, as well as a rare live performance of his new song Starlight lounge.
With all of our episodes, we want to provide artists with the ability to show off a range of their work in a fun and conceptually engaging way through our longer fifteen minute videos. The sets are also filmed in one long, continuous take that allows the artist to relax and truly reveal the emotion of their work and performance over the longer duration of the set.
For our audience, we want to give them the chance to see a selection of exciting Irish acts perform in a more relaxed and intimate setting, where familiar songs can be creatively adapted to fit the space.
Above all, we want to have fun with the series. We hope that as this progresses we can offer our viewers a diverse range of artists and genres so that there is a bit of something for everyone.
