What awaits you this weekend? A unique musical experience, a few watch evenings and the GreenJackets are back in town. Here are more details on these and other festivities:

ND13 noise show

The Augusta area noise makers will be on display at the American Dime Museum in Pexcho on 6th Street in downtown Augusta on Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight. Performers, including groups like Vitamin Stanza, Skeleton hospital and Jmastaflex, will showcase their talent in noise music, something that organizer Adams Mitchell said is something you have to hear in person to fully understand.

“It is one of our truest forms of free musical expression that we have,” he said. “It’s really up to the performer to see what they classify, but it’s definitely something that always relates to the weird side of music, the experimental side.”

Admission is $ 10 and the first 13 guests will receive a free album. Tickets can be purchased in advance at

Cinematographic events

Columbia County Parks, Recreation and Events is hosting another screen on the green at Gateway Park in Grovetown Friday at 7 p.m. Free movie night invites families to bring their blankets and chairs and enjoy an outdoor screening of Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame.” Traders will also be on site.

The Morris Art Museum presents the 1956 John Wayne film which won the Golden Globe “Researchers” Friday at the museum auditorium. The story follows a Civil War veteran’s quest to save his kidnapped niece. Museum director Kevin Grogan said in a press release on Friday that it was part of the museum’s “Films on Friday” series, which comes with a reading assignment: “The Searchers: The Making of an American Legend ”by Glenn Frankel.

The Augusta GreenJackets will celebrate the birthday of their mascot, Auggie, on Sunday in the team's home game against the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.

Augusta GreenJackets

The GreenJackets are at home this week to face the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. The games until Friday start at 7:05 pm; Start of the Saturday and Sunday matches at 6:35 p.m.

Friday and Saturday will be the “Pimento Cheese Night” and the GreenJackets will be wearing special jerseys which will be auctioned off for charity later. On Saturday there will also be a fireworks display after the game.

The baseball club will celebrate the birthday of the mascot Auggie on Sunday. Face painting will be available and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free bottle of water and a cooling towel. It will also be Bark in the Park day where fans can bring their dogs on a leash into the game with them.

An R&B evening

Tony Howard’s Motown Review returns to the Imperial Theater at 7 p.m. Saturday. The popular show features a tribute to The Temptations, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin among the soul rhythm and blues offerings. There are still limited places at the ticket office or online at imperial

Draft Society Taproom in Augusta, Georgia offers over 40 craft beers on tap that customers can purchase by the ounce so they can taste as much as they want.

Spelling bee

Draft Society Taproom on Broad Street hosts a Tipsy Spelling Bee on Saturdays at 7 p.m. Participants will work on spelling words with dozens of different alcoholic drinks. Registration begins at 6:30 pm Singles cost $ 5 and doubles teams cost $ 8. Discounted tabs will be available to participants. Grand prizes will be available to the winner (s).

Re-entry driving

Several Augusta organizations are having a party on the lawn of Diamond Lakes Library in Hephzibah on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. School supplies will be distributed to families and information will be available from the different groups.
