The Riverboat Bar at Alexandria Bay returns with its Summer Live Music series for 2022. From June to the end of August, the series will feature over 30 bands performing over a three-month period.
The Riverboat Bar focuses primarily on promoting original music, hosting national touring bands from across the Northeast and beyond, with additional shows to be added in September. More shows are free.
Alexandria Bay and the Thousand Islands region is a destination for a wide variety of tourists from America and Canada. Although not located on a super highway, Alex Bay and the surrounding area has retained its original quaint personality with a host of activities including family activities, world class fishing, romantic evenings, top-notch dive sites, live music or just chilling out.
The Riverboat Bar is a long-running local tavern offering cozy meals and bar bites with an area for live music and a covered terrace. With live music on weekends with regional and national touring bands. The Riverboat Bar also offers a wide selection of craft beers, wines and cocktails, a full service kitchen with an extensive bar menu.
In June, you’ll find highly anticipated performances from sarcastic Rochester-based pop and soul band The Sideways, heavy blues rockers from Albany Sly Fox and the Hustlers and a two-night adventure from rockers Buffalo Tiny Music.
July is busy with 12 nights of live music, the start of the month will be four nights of live music during the 4e July bank holiday weekend. Syracuse indie/art rock band All Poets & Heroes are stirring things up on Friday, July 1 with Burlington-based reggae band The Reflexions playing Saturday, July 2 while July 3 will feature a Quantum Cosmic Super Jam with members of Annie in the Water, Raisinhead and Les Réflexions. Finally, Atlanta funk and soul powerhouse Funk You will wrap up the 4th of July weekend with a special performance after the Alexandria Bay holiday fireworks. Boldt Castle.
Throughout July, Philadelphia rockers Chestnut Grove, Long Island progressive rock and funk trio Baked Shrimp, and Connecticut power rock duo Balkun Brothers will also perform. Also in July, upstate staple artists Ampevene, Vaporeyes, The Old Main, Roots Collider and up-and-coming new Buffalo band Eberwine, who will perform a special Dead/Phish set, will also perform in July. .
The party continues into August, highlighted by a return appearance from Boston roots reggae star Mighty Mystic on Friday, August 5. NYS Music March Madness winner HANZOLO will be at the Riverboat for a free show on Saturday, August 6. The Alex Bay Pirate Days Festival will feature live performances from Connecticut One Time Weekend funkers and Maryland funktronica legends LITZ. Annie in the Water returns Friday, August 19 for their annual hometown flip. Also in August, you can see Sun Dub, Gentleman Brawlers and The Pickle Mafia.
More shows will be added in September, including the annual Alex Bay Summer Send Off party at the end of the month, which will feature multiple acts over two days.
